Tense Review: Present Tenses

When we are writing descriptive paragraphs, if we are describing the present state of people and places, we use present tenses.
Read the paragraphs below and supply the correct forms of the verbs. Simple forms of the verbs are given in brackets. Write the correct form of the verb in the blank. Fill in all the gaps, then press "Check" to check your answers.

1. Not only is her physical appearance wonderful, but also her personality (seem) almost perfect. First of all, she (be) very honest. Once she (promise) to do something, she certainly (do) it even if it may seem impossible. Also she is so generous that whenever I (visit) her, she (buy) me a meal or a drink. She is a fair-minded person who is equally patient with everyone. Her smiling face (reflect) her kind heart. She is a great lover of life too. That’s why she (hate) sitting doing nothing and (love) being energetic. She is always very funny and calm because she (take) life easy and (have) confidence in herself.

2. In addition to all her positive qualities, her way of thinking is remarkable. She (think) that life is running fast and we (should / be) faster not to lose even a minute in vain. We should improve ourselves day by day and (try/be) perfect. She thinks that (have) an aim in life (help) people to hold on to life firmly. She is usually very busy and active. I don’t know how a person (can/be) so perfect.

3. She (have) such nice personality features that she has become a role model for me. I am still in contact with her. I usually (call) her when I (need) some good advice. I think everybody (should/have) such a nice person in their lives!

4. The teacher I (admire) most is Mrs. Ross, who is my math teacher. What (strike) you most about her when you first (meet) her is her intent steel blue eyes. She (look) at you as if she (try) to penetrate your soul.

5. My physics teacher Mr. Gibbs is a man in his mid-thirties. He (look) very athletic and sometimes (dress) as if he (intend) to go the gym after class. Then, you can’t help (ask) yourself if he (overdo) this athletic thing a bit too much.
